Takai Mine Karate/Tae Kwon Do was opened in 1985, in Albuquerque, NM and provides Martial Arts classes for Men, Women, and Children. Our school offers group as well as private lessons six days a week. There are classes offered for every individual from our Little Griffen Program from 4 years of age, to Children's Classes, Adult's classes, and Family classes, where adults and children can take classes together. Also, there are separate self defense classes for older adults. Takai Mine Karate/Tae Kwon Do, teaches Four Styles of Martial Arts:
Tae Kwon Do, Shoto kan, Shorin-Ryu and Majai Pai Escrima. Along with Martial Arts training, students learn respect, honesty, self-discipline, self-defense, trust, and physical fitness. The main school is located in Albuquerque, NM AT 1027 Juan Tabo NE, with a branch in Moriarty. Master Chavez is a long time veteran of the Martial Arts with over 30 years of experience. She holds the rank of 6th Degree (Dan) and is Kukkiwon certified in Korea. She holds the rank of 2nd level red shirt (equivalent of 6th degree Black Belt) under Grandmaster Dan Medina.
